Overall Satisfaction with Dropbox for Business

In my organization Dropbox for Business is used for a lot of different scopes: sharing documents, storing catalog photos and backups, storing new concepts and new developments. I personally use it to have access to the company assets done by the designers and to manage the visual part of a service desk system (e.g. screenshots for bugs or for proof of solution).
  • In osx you can take a screenshot and put it directly in the dropbox folder and automatically copy the link into your clipboard. It's a time saver and a really useful feature.
  • The easiness to share an entire folder without the necessity of uploading or downloading it.
  • A safe backup for our assets/data.
  • I would like to see the download from browser improved. For example the possibility to download entire folders and the chance to do it without the zip extension or at least the possibility to rename it.
  • I would like the possibility to have symlinks in my Dropbox browser/app for having access to content that is stored on other sites without the necessity to copy it in your Dropbox.
  • Maybe a little more easiness to reach the desktop client settings. Sometimes colleagues simply let it download all the content instead of set what to download causing a congestion to the local network.
  • We have migrated all our photos into dropbox freeing our daily computer hard drives, giving us a reliable backup solution.
  • We have gained the ability to reach it any time from everywhere and share it with those who need it.
  • The only negative impact is a marginal one. We tend to store more data than necessary. Multiple versions of the same psd file for example with just a different filter.
We thought that dropbox was more known and widespread and that it is more reliable than Mega so we have cut this contender.
After the "cut" of Mega we moved to analyze Google Drive and we simply preferred the features of dropbox for business. We think is more user friendly for sharing and using it as a group.
Is well suited where you have to see or edit a document with more than two people, where you need to be aware of changes but without a version control. It is well suited where sharing an assets is a necessity and where you need a lot of hard drive space for your material.
