Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Expensify to streamline the employee reimbursement process for staff that frequently requests reimbursements.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Auto-scans receipts
Fills out basic information
Allows you to set-up/establish rules
Never lose documents/receipts

Cons

The auto-scan feature doesn't work with heic format
Occassionally the submissions do not sync with the finance team
I'd like to be able to submit to multiple people for approval

Return on Investment

It has reduced man hours to process reimbursement requests
Expensify allows for staff to email directly instead of uploading documents
Expensify creates a clear set of options for billing departments, and makes the tracking easier

There's been minor gaps in the process, but overall this platform is incredibly useful. The gaps were sync issues, tagging recurring bills as duplicates, and not recognizing common file formats (ie. taking photos on a mobile device). Even with these gaps, the process is streamlined, keeps teams from forgetting to reimburse staff, and greatly reduces the man hours to submit and process reimbursements.

When I have multiple documents, receipts, and bills to submit; Expensify is streamlined and makes it easy to track. It didn't work with heic formats, so it took extra steps in order to get it to accept/process those files for reimbursment.
