Overall Satisfaction with Gong

We use it for our meetings with clients. I work as a PM and Implementation Consultant, and this comes in very handy. We have recordings available to create follow-up emails since we provide functional training on our calls. We also want to cover all our action items, respond to them, and keep track of them.

Pros

  • Generates follow-up emails.
  • Outlines key words.
  • Provides transcript.
  • Creates summary.

Cons

  • It could use a predefined follow-up email template and populate the predefined fields or questions.
  • It could ask you when to start recording (on Zoom) instead of doing it at some awkward random moment.
  • It sometimes misses the speaker when creating a transcript.
  • It saves me at least once per day.
  • It helps me understand clients better and not miss a single word.
  • It helps me to go back and check what I did not understand during the call.
I think I’m only using about 30% of its capabilities, but I’m already finding it incredibly helpful. It’s very easy to use, and anyone with basic computer knowledge—regardless of their reading skills—could use it. It’s also great for catching every single word, and it’s extremely user-friendly.

I used the Zoom recording, and it was way more primitive than Gong, which is Lightyear ahead of it.

I recently met with a client from Scotland whose accent was challenging to follow, especially since English isn’t my first language. Gong was a big help, providing transcripts of the call and making it much easier to keep up. The same goes for calls with Indian speakers—it does an excellent job with transcription. Sometimes, though, the follow-up email generation is off and doesn’t always make sense, but I understand the tool is still improving and will likely get better over time.
