Overall Satisfaction with Google Drive

Google Drive is mostly used to access our documents anywhere we can use internet. Our PCs, laptops, mobile devices etc. are devices for access our documents. We mostly keep docs in MS office format, but also Google documents format is used to edit the documents through browser.

Thanks to Google Drive it is very easy for us to sync, access and share documents. Recently we upgraded to Teams Drive which allows us to store documents in central folders regardless of owner assignment. Teams Drive upgrade strictly affected document accessibility and productivity.
  • Google Drive has strong integration capabilities to any well known cloud solutions.
  • Google drive is is robust. You can access your files through any device.
  • Google Docs' collaboration features are great to compose documents together with your team members.
  • Privileges on file sharing is easy to manage.
  • Drive Sync provided by Google has some draw backs. Such as no selective sync, it is required to keep the files in a specified folder etc.
  • Number of supported file types through browser is limited. It is required to use third party integrations which brings security questions.
  • We used Google Drives' collaboration features heavily since our team is distributed geographically. Thanks to Google Docs we could prepared greatly reviewed documents. Compared to its price our benefit is huge.
  • The big evolution came with Teams Drive. It brought us enterprise level shared drives. And our business positively affected. Our team members started to use docs and teams drive heavily. Again its price/performance rate it excellent.
We are using Google Drive and other google products from their very first versions. We didn't feel any drawbacks to replace them.
Due to OneNote sync requirement we use MS OneDrive which we found we complex to use.
Google Drive syncs in backgroud and does not affect pc performance. Google drive on the web has no slow downs. I can work on my legacy Windows 10/i5 2520M / 8GB / 480Gb SSD laptop.
Google Sheets is excel level and gives complete spreadsheet features which passes excel in some areas.
Other than Drive Sync Google Drive is great over all. I recommend it with no hesitation.
Google Drive is excellent for personal use, collaboration platform, file sync and access.
Google drive is not recommended it self, if team work is required. It is strongly recommended to upgrade to Google Teams Drive. Without upgrading to Teams drive it is still possible to share files with team members, but in this case if the sharing employee leaves the company file management becomes hard.

Using Google Drive

Developers, project managers, sales people, post sales team uses Google Drive.
The prepare and share project plans, technical specification documents for our producsts, user manual.

We use collaboration features in combination with business chat. Thus screen sharing is posibble.
2 - Two business person in power use role can easily support google drive.

  • Manage Business related content thanks to Teams Drive.
  • Large File sharing with customers
  • The developer team developed a shared Google Docs Sheet to manage their sprints.
  • We may upgrade to Google Drive Enterprise version for file backup capabilities.
We haven't encountered any product at this level.
