Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Google Forms for basic event registration and other form needs that don't require integration with our CRM. It allows users to gather information without significant cost and needed training. It is easy to spin up another form when needed.

Pros and Cons

Easy to use, doesn't require IT support.
Submits to a Google Sheet for easy storage and reference.
It's easy to clone a form so you don't have to build from scratch.

Doesn't have built-in CRM integration.
Limited ability to customize UI.
Many different users spinning up forms can make data centralization difficult.

Return on Investment

Helpful in early-stage startup to get underway.
Not a long-term solution for us.

Alternatives Considered

FormAssembly, Formstack Forms and JotForm

Google Forms are better than JotForm but not nearly as powerful as FormAssembly or Formstack. If you need integrations or more complex logic, then you will want to go with a more built-out form solution.

It has very good usability, particularly since it is a relatively simple solution that does not have more advanced features. This allows non-technical staff to use and implement without a lot of tech support.

It is a great form solution for more simple needs. We've used it well but are outgrowing it and moving to a more complex form solution.

Google forms are great for small businesses [that] don't have an IT department and don't have a centralized CRM. For larger companies, they will likely want a form solution to be integrated [into] their CRM and to have a bit more control over their form tools.
