Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Google Forms across our organization in almost every department. This tool allows us to standardize data collection with a secure service, and easily import it into other Google Suite products like Google Sheets. We can easily share data across departments, and collect input from target audiences whether or not they are already part of our organization or not.

Pros

Security - Data is transmitted and stored securely
Analysis - It's easy to import data into Sheets or other tools for analysis

Cons

User interface - Forms do tend to look fairly generic with fewer easy theming options compared to other services

Return on Investment

Google Forms has increased our ability to quickly gather data from employees and customers
Google Forms has reduced our spending on survey / data gathering services
Google Forms has helped us standardize across the organization and reduce confusion when sharing data between departments

Alternatives Considered

SurveyMonkey and Ninja Forms

Google Forms is easy to use and affordable. The biggest benefit, however, is that our organization already uses other Google products heavily. Because of this Google Forms was our top choice. Some smaller departments in our organization still use other solutions, such as SurveyMonkey, but as a whole it has been helpful to standardize on a single product.

Overall, Google Forms is very easy to use, especially for those who are already familiar with other Google products. Typically, we don't have to provide any special training for employees or customers to use Google forms. It works well on desktops or mobile devices, and the standard format for forms is intuitive for end users as well.

Support Rating

We haven't used much official support for Google Forms. However, because it is so widely used, there are a ton of articles and guides available online to help administrators of varying technical abilities to work through problems that arise. Additionally, Google provides an official support forum where there are discussions with other users as well as Google developers that can help address issues if needed.

Likelihood to Recommend

Google Forms works really well when you need to quickly gather information and store it in a standardized format. It also works well if your organization is already using other Google products.

If you don't use other Google products, another service may be a better fit for you. Additionally, if you need your forms to be highly customized for marketing purposes, for example, you might have an easier time with other tools.

That being said, Google Forms is well supported and is highly flexible and would likely work well for many companies.
