Overall Satisfaction with Google Hangouts
Our agile office uses Google Hangouts to support SCRUM teams. Our scrum masters use Hangouts in tandem with Slack to run our Scrum ceremonies: stand ups, grooming, retrospectives, estimating and sprint reviews. This helps us stay in the Slack app so we can collaborate while we are in the meetings. We can also bring in guests to the meeting on the fly.
- Hangouts highlights the person speaking and brings the face into the window.
- I can run a Hangout meeting from my Android smartphone with the mobile app.
- The Hangout link is reusable and can be sent out via IM or email.
- Volume and camera settings are easy to adjust via screen buttons.
- This app is part of the Google apps set and can be accessed via Gmail.
- Hangouts needs to offer a secured channel via the settings area. This would help us pass security audit for our apps. We are being pushed to go to Microsoft Team and Skype for meetings.
- Improved our support to remote Scrum users.
- Allowed product manager and business stakeholders to attend Scrum meetings from off-site locales, including international call ins.
- Integration with Slack channels provided quick meetings to support sprint issues.
Google Hangouts is just easier to use and provides an integrated Google experience. Also, it is much easier to invite others to a running meeting.
