Overall Satisfaction with Google Hangouts
It is a good tool to supplement our ordinary video messaging options like FaceTime or Skype, particularly for those who prefer not to use Skype due to the low quality of its user interface / user experience. It is also very helpful within Hangouts for us to be able to have someone call in from a separate telephone number and still be able to participate on the phone without having to have the software installed an in use. Makes conferencing easier.
- Good at reaching individuals outside its ecosystem
- Good audio and video quality
- Nice to have a text solution mingled in with it
- I'd like to have better searchability through it
- It would be nice to be able to customize some visual aspects of it for participants
- It would be nice if I could customize the origin telephone number when making an outbound call with it
- Ability to chat internally in a less formal way that an emails
- No real measured ROI
- Feels like productivity improved overall, slightly
- Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
Favorable across the board. Skype's user interface and user experience are atrocious across the board. The software is not good at all on any platform. Google hangouts works simply in a web browser (though I'd like a better mobile web experience, not just a "download our app for this service" experience)
