Overall Satisfaction with GoTo Meeting

GoTo Meeting is used by our organization when our clients (architects, engineers, building owners etc.) invite us to join meeting regarding projects we are servicing. It solves the issue of collaboration, especially during a time of Covid and necessary social distancing. We have seen a huge upspike in online meetings and we commonly need to attend meeting in order to organize project teams and relay information.

Pros

  • Ease of joining hosted meeting.
  • Screen Share is intuitive - Screen and applications separate.
  • Host features are equal to if not better than competitor applications.

Cons

  • Sending invite information could use more integrations.
  • Would love to see a feature that enables you to send files in the chat bar.
  • Could offer better pricing - especially for smaller groups.
  • GoTo Meeting has saved time and our clients time- not being kicked off after a certain time meeting limit.
  • Ease of use has been a big help - less confusion and more time getting to work.
  • GoTo Meeting does cost a price to host and it lands right in the middle on that scale.
We also frequently use Zoom, Google Meet, and Dialpad Meetings. Personally, I like Google Meet best as it integrates perfectly with our Google Calendar. GoTo Meeting outshines Zoom, it is easier to use and less costly. Dialpad Meetings is great for internal use collaborating with fellow employees but doesn't compare to these larger platforms when it comes to meeting with big groups. GoTo Meeting scores well when compared to the other three options we commonly use.

Do you think GoTo Meeting delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with GoTo Meeting's feature set?

Yes

Did GoTo Meeting live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of GoTo Meeting go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy GoTo Meeting again?

Yes

GoTo Meeting has been useful for our company. We are not often hosts of the meeting - but the host features like locking the meeting and being able to mute all at the click of a button are very useful. Especially when dealing with confidential information and larger groups. We often have 10+ participants and the video quality/lack of echoing is almost always great. I could see the price being a hindrance for a large group that needs to host. Also, the invite feature could use some more integrations, especially for larger groups so that everything can better sync.

Using GoTo Meeting

15 - HR, Owner/CEO, Data analysts, Project expediters and other facets of our office use GoTo Meeting. We've found that it comes up occasionally as a client preferred meeting platform.
1 - I don't think it takes more than one person to manage GoTo Meeting. As long as you're relatively tech savvy and are comfortable on a computer you can manage the platform and troubleshoot others.
  • Connecting with clients
  • Sharing data on a shared screen
  • Allowing for remote communications, which is becoming more and more common
  • GoTo Meeting has an app that can be used on your phone
  • Easy screen sharing and chat options
  • Compatible for anyone, making an account is easy and we can communicate effectively with clients that don't have a lot of experience using online meeting platforms
  • Conduct virtual training sessions and onboarding programs for new employees
  • Facilitate collaboration among remote teams through brainstorming sessions, and virtual workshops. Or leveraging tools like breakout rooms and whiteboards.
This platform doesn't have all the bells and whistles, for extensive future company growth and use (at least that I know of) but for our current uses it's pretty much perfect.

Evaluating GoTo Meeting and Competitors

  • Scalability
  • Integration with Other Systems
  • Ease of Use
Ease of use is extremely important because we need to use meeting platforms that work with the everyday person that might be needing our services.
The way our company operates we're open to any platform that might benefit our clients, so I don't believe we would change our decision-making process would be any different if we had to do it over again. Mainly screen-sharing, ease of use and calendar integration are our absolute needs.

GoTo Meeting Implementation

Change management was minimal - Onboarding could include use of meeting platforms to ensure there's a good understanding of the systems we use and their functions beforehand
  • Ensuring employees knew this was a platform we used
  • Not much, the integration was pretty seamless

GoTo Meeting Support

Using GoTo Meeting

We've never had a problem explaining how to use this platform internally or externally so I would give it full points. Everything is intuitive, even for folks who are older and struggle with technology.
ProsCons
Like to use
Easy to use
Technical support not required
Consistent
Quick to learn
Convenient
Feel confident using
Familiar
Unnecessarily complex
  • Integration with calendars is solid and you can login with just a few clicks
  • Screen sharing is intuitive
  • Individual chats allow you to go through the meeting uninterrupted, or you can message the whole group
  • Sometimes audio and visual quality isn't great, but the same could be said of any meeting platform in my opinion
  • As far as I know, breakout rooms aren't supported or I haven't been able to figure that out
  • There's lack of some advanced features like polling, which would be useful
