Gusto makes it easy
Overall Satisfaction with Gusto
We use Gusto for payroll and contractor payments as well as tax reporting. I’ve found it very simple, though some other services offer more bells and whistles. We briefly tried another service, but found ourselves coming right back to Gusto within three months. The fees are far more favorable and maintenance of the account and documentation is intuitive for any user. I’ve also appreciated the ability to change or modify a payroll after submission to correct an error. It’s come in handy many a time over the years. While I can’t yet speak to some of the newer offerings like benefits brokering, I’ve found Gusto to be a solid platform and one I recommend often to all sizes of business.
Pros
- Payroll
- Contractor payments
- Tax documentation
- Quarterly compliance
Cons
- Reporting and trends to be used for forecasting and decisionmaking
- Better integration with QuickBooks
- More detailed performance/review area to make promotions, dismissals, and rehiring decisions more data-driven
- Payroll/payments
- Onboarding
- Tax compliance
- Affordability/cost reduction
- Minimal effort hiring and onboarding
- Prompt tax reporting
The cost difference was the first standout as Gusto is a fraction of any of these providers. Next is your ability to self-navigate and easily access support. Finally, while other providers include more services and incentives, they have far less room for error and learning making them an unfriendly option to startups and small businesses.
