Overall Satisfaction with Gusto

Gusto is our one stop shop for all things HR - performance reviews, tracking pay periods, W2s, benefits, time-off, etc. Employees benefit from a centralized location to track their salary and benefits, and HR has a consolidated location to update employees. This limits the confusion of having multiple platforms. It also facilitates easy communication between managers and their teams.

Pros

  • Clear visualization of time off/sick leave/ etc.
  • Tracking upcoming paychecks and notice of getting paid
  • Consolidated source for all HR paperwork (e.g. paystubs, W2s, offer letters)

Cons

  • Confusing site-map: To access goals you have to click on performance, then dashboard then goals. A drop down under Performance would be easier.
  • Goal setting is limited - no options for categories of goals.
  • From an employee perspective, this has saved a lot of time. Any information I would need for HR is consolidated in one place. I do not have to reach out to HR or dig through my email to find information.
I think Gusto has a clean, simple aesthetic. The navigation menu categories are intuitive. I find it easy to find what I am looking for. Viewing files and requesting time-off is also easy to find and to use.

However, the documents section needs categories to make finding documents easier. W2s are mixed in with the employee handbook and insurance information...

It would be nice to be able to hide the functions that we don't use or that our employer doesn't provide to limit confusion.

I have not used other tools like gusto.

Yes

Gusto is well suited for organizations with a robust HR system, such as
- organizations with many salaried employees
- Various forms of time off (sick leave, bereavement, PTO) that requires manager approval
- Benefits (Medical, dental, vision, etc).
It may not be as necessary for workplaces that do not have a robust benefits package.
It would be extra well suited for organizations with remote HR teams.
