Overall Satisfaction with Gusto
I use it for HR, payroll, and benefits. It has been fantastic for onboarding new employees and makes payroll particularly easy. I didn’t have to worry about withholding enough or payroll taxes. I also love that I can offer benefits and all of my employees has signed up for 401k. It feels good to take good care of the people who make my business run. It has been great!
Pros
- Payroll is exceedingly simple and takes me less than 10 minutes.
- I like that employees can upload receipts for reimbursement and that Gusto can track that for me.
- I love that Gusto connects to my accounting software!
- Gusto makes tracking time off super easy.
Cons
- There are very few! I had one error where I was double payed but this was easily resolved because of strong customer service on Gusto’s end.
- I would like more options for healthcare. It would be great if different people could choose totally different plans from more than 1 provider.
- I would like more options for life insurance, short-term, and long-term disability.
- Simply the sheer amount of time saved is the primary benefit. I can calculate payroll and execute in 10 minutes or even less if there are no reimbursements.
- The onboarding process is also super simple and covers all necessary pieces of starting a new employee. I literally fill out one brief form and my new employee or contractor has everything completed for payroll.
- The peace of mind with knowing that everything HR, benefits, and payroll related is in one spot is huge as a new business owner.
Gusto is so much more user friendly and the customer service is excellent. Waiting on hold for ADP and Quickbooks was very frustrating and I almost never got my issue resolved. When I did get a call back, there was often a “hard sell” attached to the call.
