Overall Satisfaction with Heap

How it's used: Product analytics, reporting, and general analysis.
Problems addressed: Where do people drop off in product, how does channel performance differ, how do cohorts behave differently, how much effort does it take to go from step A to B, creating dashboards to more easily see all of the above.
  • Product analytics.
  • Allowing for easier event/data capture.
  • More custom reporting.
More robust event capture that is easier to implement. Simplified capabilities that typically get the job done. However, customization was much more robust on Mixpanel.

  • Better than Mixpanel for product analytics as not every event needs to be tagged to be tracked.
  • Has decent pre-set reports to guide analysis but does not allow for customization or more robust reporting on or off platform.
  • Recent UI changes that aren't changeable making reporting more rigid than before.
