Overall Satisfaction with Hootsuite
I use Hootsuite to manage and schedule my social media posts, mostly for Twitter, but also a bit for Linkedin. It makes it easier for me to view my posts and interactions across multiple social media networks. Seeing multiple streams on a single screen enables a more proactive and dynamic engagement with my social media contacts.
- Multiple streams on a single screen
- Scheduling posts (albeit only 5 after a recent change)
- Connecting more than one social media service within a single platform
- The arbitrary limit of 5 scheduled posts is very frustrating. This limit used to be higher and it seems they lowered it just to get more money
- Limit on number of accounts that can be hooked up on the free platform
- Sometimes the stream moves very quickly and there is no way that I have found to halt it so that I can read something before it scrolls off... this is mostly for my Home Twitter stream that tracks posts by those I follow
- Improved content sharing and planning
- Reduced time and effort
- Ease of interaction
- Since they dropped the free tier I have abandoned Hootsuite
Hootsuite's tabs make the interface easier to view and manage than the TweetDeck approach. I haven't looked at TweetDeck in some time though as I have been satisfied using Hootsuite for at least a decade now. I briefly looked into alternatives to Hootsuite a couple of years ago and I recall there being several alternatives, such as SocialBee, that seem to be more geared for usage by advertising agencies. Many of them did not have a free option like Hootsuite does. So I am a long-term, happy Hootsuite user.
