Overall Satisfaction with Intercom

Intercom.io is used by the design and research team to identify users that we want to talk to. I like to filter through our users by certain attributes so that I can segment our users, email a select group of people, and interview them. The end goal is to get feedback from customers about our app so that we can improve how we build and design features.
  • Straightforward filters that are easy to configure, with a lot of pre-selected options.
  • I enjoy the design.
  • Once you spend the time to understand it, it's easy-to-use.
  • The first few times I visited Intercom's marketing site and signed up for their app, I was confused about why the tool was valuable. After putting aside a few hours, I was able to understand its value. It's not a tool where you can spend a few seconds to get what it does.
  • For example, when I first saw Acquire, Engage, Learn, and Support, I didn't understand the difference and why the different features were separated. The way the features are packaged makes sense though after you dig a bit deeper beyond what they say in their copy.
  • Tighter feedback loop with customers
Besides Intercom, I have not used any of their direct competitors. Intercom offers enough to keep me around.
It's a great way to communicate with your customers whether you are on the product team, support team or sales team. It's super flexible and powerful once you get to know it.
