Overall Satisfaction with Intuit Mailchimp
Wesley Campus Ministry uses MailChimp to communicate with our students who are on campus to let them know about weekly activities, upcoming events, and provide ways to sign up for things like the Leadership Team or service opportunities, trips and retreats. We also now use it to communicate with alumni, supporters, and friends of our ministry. It's helping us to build a support system and a way to ask for financial and other support in a streamlined sort of way. As well as letting us communicate all the good news that we can share from each semester, and what the ministry accomplished.
Pros
- Creates clean, professional looking emails.
- Provides user-friendly interface that is fairly intuitive.
- Allows for SMS lists and communication as well as email campaigns.
Cons
- Photo and graphic uploads could use folders instead of having to page through multiple pages of content to find graphics I want to reuse.
- Make it easier to use emojis in creating email text. I see other orgs and brands do this, but I still haven't figured out how to do it myself.
- MailChimp has helped grow our audience from 4 to over 75.
- Students are more likely to follow through on RSVPing and signing up for events.
- SMS is great for last minute reminders and invitations for our primary demographic.
The "TAGS" feature has allowed me to separate our current students' weekly newsletter and our alumni & supporters quarterly mailing. Although I wonder if there is a better or more efficient segmentation option to use.
