Overall Satisfaction with Jama Connect
The Engineering Team at my client was focused on developing the ability to demonstrate their engineering organization's ASPICE capabilities as they worked to improve their overall software quality. One of the necessary considerations was to have a Requirements Management tool that could support traceability. The use case focused primarily on software engineering and software development.
Pros

Cons
- Could add capability for Project Admin to upload image per project at highest level to make visually easier to identify one out of many
- Could offer a 'free' version that can be used on only 1 project with limited functionality
- Free version could also allow JCA to be trialed - what better way to get people hooked on how easy it is to use, than to offer a Free version. Get them hooked, then have them become a subscriber. Functionality would need to be very limited because of the power of the tool. Be sure tech support is aligned with these users - to demonstrate the incredible support Jama provides with a funded subscription. An easy way to bump off the competition!

- Business objectives are still a work in progress to meet but company is well on its way to meeting those related to Jama
Outcome: This is yet to be realized, but the company is well on its way to demonstrate the ability to meet ASPICE requirements while managing information between team members and working to ensure a quality product is provided to customers by proper Requirements Management and Traceability through test.
Collaboration is very easy to do in Jama Connect. The functionality and way the tool has information laid out is very easy to navigate and very easy to administer. Team members who learned how to use the tool, became familiar with the button clicks rather quickly.
The team did not have a chance to try traceability yet, but the overall experience is positive including the ability to make integrations with other tools such as TestRail and Jira. Bidirectional traceability between tools was established, however, the team is still working toward implementing these capabilities at this time.

JCA is an extraordinary tool that is very simple to use and brings efficiency to the creation of requirements. It is particularly good at highlighting improvements to requirements which, when done properly and done up front in the engineering development process, will save significant time and prevent confusion downstream in the development process. It's difficult to quantify how much of a positive impact JCA would have on any individual project, but I would say it could easily save an organization more than its cost in terms of improving efficiencies and the traceability integrity throughout the entire portfolio of projects when applied correctly. This additional product from Jama is highly recommended.
