Overall Satisfaction with Lifesize Video Conferencing

I would just say that our disappointment lies in the fact that we chose a French reseller, and then we realized that lots of European countries chose to equip on their own because quotations they got from local providers were cheaper.
We use Lifesize Video Conferencing for the whole organization. Edenred Group is spread among the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. The Lifesize solution is used by people from any departments that need to share with other. At the beginning, it was implemented to ease communication for top management. Little by little, more and more employees are using it.
  • Sound, video and presentation quality
  • User experience
  • Ability to launch a call in a Lifesize room from a laptop (from the web browser)
  • Ability to make the solution interoperable with Skype for Business. It works, but not easily, not always.

Where it is well suited:

- cost of the solution compared to POLYCOM or CISCO

- very good quality for sound + video

- strong infrastructures behind the hardware with Lifesize Cloud and private backbone

Where it is less appropriate:

- interoperability with Skype for Business

- some issues when dealing with virtual meeting rooms (people disconnected, presentations that can disappear)

Using Lifesize Video Conferencing

1 - Reactive, knowing the Lifesize functionnalities and web portals to administrate the devices setup, knowing people to cope with in case of incidents.
  • Video call between 2 parties from different countries
  • Video conference with 1 person talking to many
  • Project committees through video calls (at least 3 parties + document sharing)
  • Streaming functionnality
  • Chat functionnality during streaming sessions
Because in spite of incidents we faced, we trust the solution. And the fact it is much used shows people are happy with it.
  • Reduce travels costs
  • Increase collaboration
  • Using the streaming functionnality a few months after it was published to enable a new event in the company, when main directors were speaking in live to top management

Lifesize Video Conferencing Support

Support for Lifesize is firstly provided by our reseller (Cap-Visio). They are not as reactive as we expect. We had some serious issues in 2017, and we had to escalate directly to Lifesize, which means we had 2 different groups of people to talk to. In the end, the main problem we faced was partially solved, and we had a lot of tests to do to make sure it was working. By the way, we appreciated direct support from Lifesize with available and knowledgeable people.

Yes - es, it was resolved, but it took time! And it took more time that initially planned.
We wanted to use the streaming functionnality when it was just published. We needed to make a lot of tests to make sure the solution would be working properly when required. We had the full support from 1 person from Lifesize based in India. This person was available for each test we performed and helped us to improve the configuration.
