Overall Satisfaction with Litmos

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Litmos is used as one of the LMS in our company. It helps with logging in attendance in person and for webinars. It also is the platform where we house external compliance content. However, it does not meet our needs as a business for everyone. Mostly for blue collar jobs and for us to use as our platform for housing our internal content.

Seems plain and simple
Very short content

Cons

Live sessions synchronizing to Teams (errors)
Permissions are highly lacking
Courses do not update and usually break
People can be clueless
Seems like a money grab
Content is highly lacking (very superficial)
Compliance training not up to date
Lack of language options
AI function does not work
Content is outdated and incomplete
New content does not automatically replace old content and causes confusion
Litmos emails do not always come through
Litmos password self reset does not work

Alternatives Considered

360Learning, Absorb LMS and LinkedIn Learning (Lynda.com)

The others are more robust and reporting is superior. They have had AI for longer and have more experience. Content from other vendors is more robust compared to Litmos and taught by experts in the field. Learning can be tied to specific skills and as part of the L&D strategy. Litmos is very simple and micro content for blue collar jobs.

It is better than nothing

Implementation Rating

I did not participate in the original implementation. However, the other implementations that I have been a part of could benefit from some minor testing or soft launches. The one I was a part of did it all at once and disturbed multiple users. They were unable to create accounts and it created chaos.

Likelihood to Recommend

Seems very basic. Depending on the need, it might help you if all you want is to keep logs and house internal content.
Not suitable for large clients that want/have a robust learning and development strategy. Content is simple and very basic and at times outdated. We wanted to use their compliance content but it is highly lacking and also not compliant in terms of offering options in all languages for learners (i.e., California requirements).
