Overall Satisfaction with Litmus

Litmus is primarily used by our Email Marketing and Digital Marketing teams. We use it to test code rendering across several inboxes based on where our email subscribers open emails, and to test Dynamic Content renderings. In addition, we leverage Litmus to receive proof for review and provide comments and approvals in their Proof Review tool, which has significantly cut down on the approval process timeline and helps clarify questions and edits by utilizing a click-to-comment functionality and timestamps of who approved and when.

Lastly, the Litmus pixel data helps us understand our open and read time analytics to optimize for send time, formatting, and length.
  • Email code rendering testing across nearly all ISP inboxes and device-types.
  • Proof review process via click-to-comment and approval timestamp tools.
  • "What you see is what you get" template editor tool for team members who are not code developers, so that we can allocate developer resources efficiently. Features allow you to restore code blocks and limit editing to brand standards so the email marketing manager isn't the sole email developer for the full organization.
  • Pixel analytics for read-time, open location, open device, and other helpful email marketing metrics. It can be fed back into your ESP and used in segmentation for future sends - though you'll need a programmer for this.
  • Great knowledge base and blog of helpful email coding and development tricks. Their webinars and articles are the best in the industry and the Litmus community is incredibly helpful and innovative. Whenever there is a major update to an ISP or change in the email world I turn to Litmus first.
  • For teams that project manage through Trello or communicate via Slack, the Litmus integrations are incredibly helpful in streamlining tasks.
  • More integrations with project management tools such as Wrike or monday.com or resources on how to integrate.
  • Integration with Microsoft Teams similar to the Slack integration.
  • Significant time savings on QA and review process has allowed for more complex and advanced email development. Driving business revenue goals.
  • Analytics for engagement and read time, as well as rendering previews, have helped optimize email content for increased engagement metrics. Increasing sponsored email inclusion revenue.
  • The ability for non-coders to still edit emails via the WYSIWYG editor has saved countless email developer hours, allowing for more robust and complex email development and segmentation efforts rather than focusing on basic code swaps.
We use Litmus with Oracle Eloqua - don't know why it's not populating into the above dropdown field.

The Eloqua integration with Litmus is really helpful to check for and resolve code issues without needing to navigate between multiple platforms which helps saves time. Though I prefer the Litmus platform to code and check rendering before entering code into our enterprise ESP, as the Litmus platform is easier to use and has shorter load times.
The read time, open time and location, and basic email engagement metrics have helped direct and optimize email design and build which in turn has resulted in higher click-thru and read-time rates and ultimately conversions.
The click-to-comment feature and approval button features are our team's most-used features. We have integrated Litmus into our team Slack channel so team members know when a new proof is ready to review, and they can see all the comments others have left so if there is a difference of opinion we are not talking in circles about how to resolve.

Getting the approvals and comments straight to my Slack also helps me focus on other work while I wait for all approvals to come in, without crowding my inbox or having to constantly check back into the platform.

I love Litmus! I was the one who pitched and advocated for Litmus's adoption at my company and no one has regrets. Not only is it cost-effective, but it has also cut email development, Approval, and QA times down by 3/4s if not more. We've leveraged the Template WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor so that marketers who do not have email coding experience can still make edits without having to funnel into our limited email developer resources.

Before Litmus, we would have inboxes for all of the major ISPs (Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, iCloud, etc.) and have to manually check to render. Being able to use the code render checklist feature has really helped cut down on code rendering issues, improve device optimization, and cut back on QA timelines to allow for more email development time. We've caught errors we never would have been able to check for previously and as a result, our email engagement rates have spiked.

Lastly, being able to use the proof approval tool we have cut back the time it takes to collect feedback from multiple stakeholders. Leaders can click-to-comment on exactly where they are seeing an issue or edit, and other stakeholders can read the comments in order to weigh-in on opinions/decisions. Then the timestamps for approvals help our email marketing manager know when she's approved to send.
