Overall Satisfaction with Litmus
We purchased Litmus to streamline the email review process and gain a few more insights into our email readership. We also were interested in using the building features to get the designers and content developers more involved in the design and take some pressure off the single marketing automation resource on the team. It is currently used by only the marketing team at our organization, but we have proof reviewers from throughout all departments. It has proven to be an essential tool for collaboration. We were also able to get more insight into what browsers our customers are using, which showed we could spend less time worrying about the Outlook folks and more time serving innovative and interactive email content for our readers on the less restrictive email providers. We did struggle with the building features in the program. Too many aspects of our Marketo templates couldn't be enabled in Litmus, which didn't help us reduce the number of times we went back into the asset in Marketo. We have seriously improved our collaboration on reviews and this has been an invaluable tool for our team.
Pros
- Analytics: Litmus really fills in the gaps Marketo has in their reporting analytics.
- Collaboration: The preview and proof reviewer functions are phenomenal.
- Checklist: Love the way it makes it so easy to make sure all your data is in the right places.
Cons
- Builder: It isn't intuitive.
- Builder: The functionality doesn't make it easy to add variables to modules.
- Interface: It's really complicated to get to the analytics.
- Time saved reviewing and implementing feedback.
- Time saved on QA.
- Identified what browsers we need to focus on.
We just used it for the first time last month, but it is helping us see what we need to focus on.
We use Litmus for all email collaboration. It speeds things up and keeps all of the comments in context allowing for conversation before changes are implemented and speeds up each touch we make to an asset.
- Knak.
Knak is a better implementation with Marketo to give non-technical people more access to develop assets with the ability to lock down sync to Marketo (which Litmus does do). This way the ops person isn't involved in creative back-and-forth, and they can focus on campaign execution to improve go-to-market timelines for the content.
