Overall Satisfaction with Litmus

I am a freelance graphic designer and email developer and my speciality is email. I use Litmus as an indispensable tool in my creative toolbox in order to check the emails I design and code.

It is incredibly helpful for me to troubleshoot, check and optimize email creatives by seeing them in all sorts of platforms, email service providers and devices. I always recommend that my clients allow me use Litmus, as I feel it is a valuable asset in my work process and a well known and trusted company in the industry. Litmus allows me to have the confidence that my emails will always render correctly to our target audience.
  • Show rendering in multiple email clients, browsers and devices
  • Stays up to date when one of the above variables changes
  • Gives tips on email design and coding
  • Perhaps if there were a way to know without going through all screenshots if there was an immediate detected problem
  • I haven't noticed if Litmus checks links as I usually use it for visual render checks but if they could do that and point out any errors that would be a good thing
  • If there were a render error and the system gave us tips on how to fix it that would be amazing too. Normally I can figure out myself why something isn't working but once in a while weird bugs come up and there is no explanation
  • the positive thing is that if I test in Litmus I have the confidence it will look ok before I send to a client and they mail it out to a whole email list. Plus, I have the backup proof it rendered correctly in Litmus if a user says it doesn't render for them.
  • Litmus also saves time. I don't have to wait for someone to send a seed to make sure it looks ok; I can just check in Litmus and have ALL results in just a few seconds
I have not integrated anything with Litmus so this is not applicable to me.
I have not used it to gauge email engagement or performance so this is not applicable to me. I only use it for visual render checks.
I don't use this feature; as a freelancer doing all the work on the creative, I am the only one who checks the creative so I don't have a team approve the rendering. I check it myself and then send the completed files to my clients.
I prefer Litmus because it is more user friendly, and the team to me seems more personal. I even followed them on social media and asked how i could get a Litmus t-shirt once, and they sent me one for free. I really like them as a company; they have a solid product and seem to be good people. I also noticed that Email on Acid sometimes makes errors. I have not noticed this with Litmus.

Do you think Litmus delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Litmus's feature set?

Yes

Did Litmus live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Litmus go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Litmus again?

Yes

Litmus has saved me several times where I thought I had a bulletproof email and it showed me a break in the code that I was unaware of. It is great for checking an email will render properly in a chosen device, ESP or browser.

It is not as useful if you do not know code and you need help coding the email; it won't teach you HTML or CSS in my experience, just show errors (unless there is a feature I am unaware of). It does however offer pre-made templates but I have no experience with these, as I code my emails from scratch.
