Overall Satisfaction with Litmus

We use Litmus for email template development, testing, and deployment. litmus provides a far better and more robust solution than our ESP, both for template customization and platform testing. It would be better if there were more seamless integration between Litmus and Pardot, but the tracking code implementation is still useful, despite its cumbersome nature.
  • Platform testing
  • code preview
  • template modularity
  • Some platforms (particularly Samsung Mail) are not accurate
  • Better integration with Pardot so that it is truly seamless
  • Easier click to select tags
  • reduced testing time, less need to send from esp to individual devices
  • tracking code fairly easy to set up
  • shortened development time due to automatic browser update
No. LItmus analytics are not particularly accurate. Whilst it claims to accurately report non-iOS opens, I find far more accurate (and verifiable) results within my own ESP, particularly when using custom tracking codes. Litmus tracking is only useful for orientation purposes, but not particularly useful when conducting a deeper analysis of email performance.
It really hasn't. I get far more insight from using outside tools and downloading raw data from my ESP and parsing it in Excel. I was looking forward to Litmus analytics and have thus far been largely disappointed by the offering. I find it to be not very accurate and the metrics provided only scratch the analytical surface.
The best use for this feature is QC, making sure that individual edits by marketing staff do not somehow truncate tags or otherwise break the template. Litmus is also useful for seeing how updates to various webmail clients affect templates and CSS so that problems can be rectified as quickly as possible.
Litmus is a far more comprehensive platform than Email on Acid for template development and testing, but its analytics suite is not really that much more sophisticated. I use Litmus primarily for development and testing, so I am not complaining, but I wish that the analytics offering were more comprehensive. Were another package to offer more sophisticated analytical tools, it might be compelling enough to move to that platform

Do you think Litmus delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Litmus's feature set?

Yes

Did Litmus live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Litmus go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Litmus again?

Yes

Ease of use for non-coders to create emails without breaking the template. Excellent browser preview mode to see code changes as they are needed. Previews for mobile clients can be a bit clunky and sometimes the full render is not visible or appears as a grey box. Also, selecting and unselecting clients in the preview often do not work and clients need to be unselected multiple times to go away.
