Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Mailchimp is primarily used in the Marketing department to send newsletters, product updates to our prospects and existing users. It mainly helps us keep in touch with our prospects and customers. This is also helpful for our customers to stay in touch with us as well as keep updated about the product.

Easy to create templates
List management is easy

Pricing can be a little cheaper.
Phone support could have been provided.

Return on Investment

Mailchimp is really easy to use and can save a lot of time.
However, to justify the pricing, it would be better if the teams had more numbers of emails to send.

Usability

Mailchimp is probably the best email marketing tool. The way this platform evolved over the years is amazing, it is straightforward to use, and the productivity gains are incredible. The pricing, though on the expensive side, can easily be justified. The email deliverability is also good with the platform. List management and template building are straightforward compared to the other platforms.

All-in-One Marketing Platform

Mailchimp is primarily used only for communication by the marketing department in our organization. We did not integrate Mailchimp with a lot of other systems though it has the capability. We did not do it because the other teams use many different platforms, and they do not look into the communication.

Lessons for Success

One of the critical things we learned through Mailchimp is to keep in touch with customers or prospects. If you do not stay in touch with them, they tend to unsubscribe to the communication, which might affect the deliverability. It is always important to recycle and keep the lists healthy so that they don't have a lot of bounce rate.

Likelihood to Recommend

Mailchimp works like a breeze if you need to send out a newsletter or product update. However, it can become quite expensive as your list grows. The pricing will not hurt if you consider the productivity gains and the ease of using the platform. Maintaining records and composing emails is easy and works like a charm.
