We are using Mailchimp's solution with some of our clients who communicate with their contacts with communication objectives, news, and commercial information. It is primarily used by commercial and communication departments. The main challenge they face is to be able to analyze the response of contacts, data analysis, and email open optimization. These teams try to better the click rate within shipments.

Campaign Monitor and Amazon Simple Email Service

Mailchimp offers many more options of segmentation of lists, a large market of templates for shipments, is easier to use, has integration with other platforms, and offers more data of shipments. Amazon is oriented to mass shipping and for adding some data. While it is a very economical tool, it is too simple and unprofessional for marketing teams.

Usability

In the desktop version, it uses very simple forms and does not require programming or web designer skills. Any average user can build and customize their own emails or can track campaigns and analyze results. It uses a clean and minimalist distribution that helps the user and has assistants throughout steps to help get it configured.

We have implemented Mailchimp for organizations that required basic automation and had small teams in their marketing departments. It is an all-in-one platform, but is aimed at small businesses or teams of professionals with little experience or low demand in campaigns.

I think it's a good solution for small businesses and businesses that don't want to invest a lot of money in their email marketing strategy and don't have a global digital marketing plan in other media. Mailchimp allows simple actions of email marketing but does not integrate other media such as social, media, web sites or SEM. For companies that are interested in devoting more time and resources to their digital strategy, I recommend other more oriented solutions for total digital marketing management. But, to do email marketing simply, efficiently and for a low cost, Mailchimp remains the best option.
