Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID
We use this as our main IDP for SSO, and we also utilize various Conditional Access policies that apply based on user, location, and device type. We also apply MFA as required, based on different criteria. We also create enterprise applications within this, and have multiple security groups that then apply licenses and other access or restrictions.
Pros
- User and Group Management.
- Enterprise application Management.
- User provisioning into third party apps (SCIM).
- Security based on Conditional Access Policies.
Cons
- Better granular controls of roles and ability to create custom roles.
- Better access to logs to identify where there are issues.
- Easier access to general support from within Entra.
- CA and MFA on our always on VPN solution.
- SSO and MFA on SaaS solutions.
- Deployment of Licensing (office in particular).
We have an on-premises AD environment, and we sync it to Entra, as currently, the guidance is that if you have an on-premises AD, you should retain it and sync it into Entra.
Yes, we have several SaaS Solutions that use Entra ID as the IDP.
Atlassian Zoom NinjaRMM Crowdstirke Cisco Meraki and SIG.
Users now have more seamless and more effortless access to the external applications we consume, and this means there is a secure and single method of access.
We find that this is more integrated into various apps, which provides an almost single pane of control for access to our device and user estate.
