Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Office 365

We currently use the Microsoft Office 365 suite for all of our office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.). It is being used by all departments and has allowed us to greatly expand our users’ mailbox storage as we are now cloud based and do not need to store emails on premises.
  • Cloud based storage allows for larger mailboxes
  • OWA allows access to the applications from anywhere
  • OneDrive allows for offsite work
  • Teams allows for collaboration between individuals and groups
  • Outlook forces some settings, such as focused inbox. Our users found that to be an annoying feature.
  • General connectivity issues due to Azure AD sync issues.
  • OneDrive allows users to take potentially sensitive files/data offsite.
  • OneDrive allows users to save malicious files and transfer them to work network.
  • Better communication = less wasted time
  • Employee satisfaction with latest office suite = increased productivity
  • Ability to work anywhere = less risk of missing deadlines
Microsoft Office 365 definitely blows the competition out of the water in regards to performance, security, updates, community support, and available features. I think that Microsoft Office 365’s only weakness would be its price point, as some of the competing products are much more affordable for users (or in some cases, they are free).
I have had a few issues in the past with Microsoft Office 365 not syncing properly. In both of these occasions, I have been able to find quite a bit of valuable support both through Microsoft’s online community forums and through their technical support team. They are always quick to respond and resolve the issue.

I believe that Microsoft Office 365’s greatest potential/strength is its portability. It’s incredibly convenient to be literally anywhere and be able to work on Word files, Excel spreadsheets, emails, and Powerpoint presentations on the go. I’d recommend it for companies with multiple employees/departments. On the other hand, it’s probably not necessary for small shops.
