Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams
Teams is now (finally!) being used across the whole company. It's being used to consolidate all of the other collaboration tools (Skype, Lync, network drives, OneDrive, hangouts, etc, etc.) and its implementation has transformed the way that my teams work together.
The key business problem this addresses is that of fluid collaboration, we can conduct meetings, have multiple people editing the same document, chat on IM, and share large files - effortlessly. It just works - which is what software is supposed to be.

- A single platform for multiple purposes. Having a single "point of contact" makes it more likely people will use it. Before there were multiple systems and busier people "didn't have time to check them all".
- The meeting/IM and file sharing work together seamlessly.
- the tight integration with Office 365 means that you can focus more on work and less on the somersaults you're going to have to make whilst trying to share it.
- I'd prefer (and perhaps there is an option that our ITSec people have hidden away!) for attachments/files to open in the native app, rather than online.
- Somewhat RAM hungry - but this is Windows!
- It's super fiddly to set up new "Teams".
- Sometimes less-than-intuitive layout.
- Hard to attach a numerical ROI, but I personally have found work much easier, even when in different locations.
- We can now respond in a more agile fashion to requests from management. Simultaneously taking input from different specialist teams into the same board paper.
- Having a single platform has meant that everyone is actually using it. Before uptake was patchy.
I wasn't responsible for the selection. But our implementation replaced:
- Yammer
- Skype
- Lync
- Hangouts
These were used in patches across the firm. They all are "fine" but because there were so many different platforms the result was that no-one was using any consistently. Which is similar to them all being useless. Teams is a great combination of the things we need to run efficiently.
