Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Teams

Our department uses this for both instant communication and scheduled online meetings. We hold department meetings online, and this is a better option for us than Zoom, simply because it is easier to use and integrates with Outloom. I am also in an organization that uses Teams meetings with people in different time zones.

Pros

  • Instant messaging.
  • File share.
  • Quality online meetings.

Cons

  • Work on making the app more user friendly.
  • Is Single sign on an option, if so, this would be a nice feature.
  • I feel like there are a lot of other things inside Teams that aren't utilized, and that could just be that I don't know what they are or how to use them.
  • Allows integration with Outlook.
  • Chat with anyone in your organization that has Teams setup.
I can't speak for all organizations like mine, but I can say that ours uses Teams as our collaboration platform when we work with other members on campus, whether for files or meetings. The program is simple to use, even if we only use the common ones, such as chat.
Zoom was the first virtual web program I used, and I still use it for some parts of my job, but I like how chat is included with Teams. Our whole department isn't in the same building, so it is convenient to send a message instead of picking up the phone or even just sending an email.

Yes

I have recommended this to others who use a different virtual online conference app. I use this to schedule and speak at various meetings. We have conferences, and Teams is one we send to members who can't join in person, but it gives them the opportunity to watch live. I wish it would allow us to set up individual rooms as Zoom does. I work in education and need a web service that lets me monitor individuals one at a time; something like breakout rooms would be great.
