Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I am a student, and we use Miro across multiple classes, but it addresses a huge problem of not being able to layout different work for all to see. We have tried using other "board" apps and sites, but Miro is really the best for being able to load designs, images, or work onto a board and have multiple people comment, edit, and add things. It also allows us to share ideas and change/edit anything as we need to.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Organization - Miro allows you to be extremely organized when handling and placing files onto boards
Working within a team
Allows others to comment on work/make edits
Provides the team with a place where all ideas can come together as one
The amount of things you can add - lines, sticky notes, plain text, etc...

Cons

Work will sometimes disappear, but will always reappear after a bit
Files sometimes show up with pink tint overlayed for a while (i think this is just a loading error)
There used to be a feature where you could see a small pop up window at the bottom right showing where all the work was placed in a board. Im not sure if I can't see it anymore because of a new computer or not, but I really loved that feature and would love to see it come back!

In a group of 25, it usually takes us about 3 hours to go through our work individually. Using Miro it takes about 1 hour-1 hour 30 mins due to being able to view all of the work in one place

Ease of Integration

It is extremely easy to use and widely accessible. Integrating Miro into our courses was extremely helpful, especially because it is so user-friendly, so there are rarely any problems using it.

Collaboration

Many of my peers are international students, so they are on the other side of the world, and still able to attend and view information from classes due to Miro, and if they miss something because of a time difference, Miro keeps all the work on the board so they can just come on afterward and view all the material they missed. It is very helpful for those who are working remotely AND in different locations.

Alternatives Considered

Blackboard Collaborate, Blackboard Learn and Google Classroom

Miro is KING when it comes to board-like products! It features everything missing from all of the other products into one place that finally has it all. I didn't choose to start using Miro, but I fell in love with the program after using it once, and I use it outside of classes all the time.

Likelihood to Recommend

Specifically for any industry where they use and review imagery or charts. (Graphic design, statistics, fine art, marketing, etc) I don't think Miro would be helpful to anyone who does work with heavy text in it (writing or literature), or people who are in science-based careers, except for general notes and mood boards.
