Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro as a virtual collaborative tool with some creative uses (e.g. idea generation, brainstorming, engaging the audience). Its dynamic UI makes it immediately relatable as a norm of a brainstorming session: by dragging, writing, and "pasting" the digital Post-It notes, it functions effectively for Design Thinking. Even when used infrequently, the tutorial is there to remind us of the controls which is something I appreciate greatly. Overall, it is a great digital board. It cannot replace face-to-face interaction but it is more than welcome to replace the flurry of Post-It meetings.
- Effective substitute for some sections of Design Thinking sessions
- Easy-to-use UI
- Low latency allows for great real-time collaboration by others interacting with the tool
- Email updates when changes are made on boards you are participating in
- Prompts when you are trying to do something but using the wrong control for it (e.g. move the screen with the left-mouse button, when it's actually the right that does so)
- If this tool has not been integrated on a SmartBoard or equivalent hardware, it would be a wasted opportunity
- Unsure if there are master controls/restrictions for use with groups of children in an educational setting (even when the tool encourages interaction)
- No settings for people with visual handicaps (e.g. colour blindness)
- Would be nice to have a separate (pop-up?) window indicating your relative position is on the board, which would be good for boards much larger than the monitor
- Improved productivity during Work-From-Home periods
- Breaking the ice and encouraging initiative over the online environment
Enabled interaction between workers from home and those in office in a fun, engaging manner. Engagement led to more spontaneous ideas, worker participation and more positive, clear takeaways from each session.
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy Miro again?
No
Miro is more visual and more optimized for process creation and visualization, especially during the meeting. Smartsheet is better at data visualization, ordering information, and keeping records. As a result, it does not have the same visual intuitiveness as Miro.
