Miro is my #1 tool for brainstorming as a Product Manager.
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use Miro on several different occasions. Lately, I have used Miro for Discovery, Brainstorming ideas for new products, mapping current features, and easily describing the "state" of the product - using screenshots, comments, and adding graphs to Miro. Miro is my go-to platform before a big presentation; it's where I can be more "messy" and throw lots of ideas before summarizing them in an "official" document/presentation.
Pros
- Adding post-its.
- Grouping images.
- Diagrams and connecting ideas.
Cons
- When I first started using it, I had a hard time finding how to add pictures; the icon wasn't super clear to me.
- When I add lots of images, sometimes there is a delay loading them.
- 90% of all our creative/brainstorming sessions are guided with Miro.
Miro has been essential for collaboration with our remote team - we are 100% remote, and Miro is the number 1 tool we use when we have to share ideas and do a creative process with multiple people at the same time. It makes it feel as easy as being in the same room with the team, plus I think it makes the process quicker during the creative ceremonies.
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy Miro again?
Yes
I believe Figma is not as userfriendly as Miro; it's more focused on design, and as a Product Manager, I do not feel comfortable using it as I use Miro. Power Retro is the tool we use for our Retro, but we could use Miro as well, same features. Confluence and Jira are the official tools used for our product roadmap and sprint planning; I believe it has more tools for connecting epics with user stories, giving visibility of the progress of the team - but I have used Miro as my unofficial roadmap - as it is just me managing it, I think it's okay, but for a company level, we haven't tried Miro.
