Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro as a collaborative whiteboarding tool to merge hybrid work groups together and communicate across job functions. The product is also great as a visualization tool for group meeting and environments, where a shared space makes the most sense. In scope we have ~ 50 boards that I access in total across 3 workgroups.
  • Whiteboarding.
  • Meeting notes.
  • Long-term planning.
  • Sharing board files.
  • External integrations.
  • Text modifications.
  • Improved focus during meetings.
  • Easy to work non synchronously.
  • More creative design opportunities.
The integration is okay with the chicklet visual style. It would be better served with Miro boards being embedded in different things, which I was not able to do.
We have several teams across different time zones, and Miro is a great tool for one team to do work towards a common goal, log off and go to sleep and then the next team look at the changes done and continue the project and add notes.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I would say that it is superior in terms of polish to all of them, with the nearest true competitor being draw.io with its ability to horizontally scale in use and ease of use. For technical drawings I would still choose draw.io simply because of familiarity, but with some better templates available or better technical applications Miro can catch up.
Miro is very well suited to a VPN environment where you need to have everyone working on a similar product. As a straight whiteboarding tool for non technical or paired agile meetings, it is ideal. One way that it can improve is by having more options for technical topics, as currently I would rate an open source option like draw.io better in terms of a canvas to work on. Miro is still serviceable for sure.
