I'm an occasional user that finds Miro very useful to collaborate with others....
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
As a virtual whiteboard Miro enables me to work collaboratively to address a host of business problems that include:
- process mapping to understand business issues before we import to or and design in our "official" process platform
- compiling content in advance of workshops and team days and testing the flow of material from one subject to another
- mind mapping, capturing ideas, strategising, building roadmaps and initial planning.

Pros
- Easy to create attractive visual representations
- Import and export of content e.g. tables, graphics
- Integration with Google meet
- Range of templates and useful resources
Cons
- Moving around the page with a mouse - that need to keep the right button down gets me all the time
- Organising content - I end up with massive boards with lots of content and find it hard to track content down - I also guess I like structur, folders and groups to keep my stuff in
- Navigation back and forth through open boards and
- Collaboration across boards and different users - how should we manage content to reduce duplication and redundency?
- Personally, as a whiteboard for gathering and structuring my thoughts, invaluable
- Facilitating workshops in the virtual space, invaluable
Hugely, we've been able to bring teams together to address issues. It does require you to have an initial plan for its use and to also bring some structure and strawman content into the space but just prepping through this will resolve many issues that you will face in the session and will result in a better experience
Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?
Not sure
Are you happy with Miro's feature set?
Yes
Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?
I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process
Did implementation of Miro go as expected?
I wasn't involved with the implementation phase
Would you buy Miro again?
Yes
- ARIS and MindManager
We use ARIS, typically we collaborate around Miro build a simple strawman and then transition to ARIS populating the data we have in the Process Repository to create that fuller integrated view. Miro won't replace our existing process tools but helps us to accelerate to using them. Historically I have used MindManager for my strategising, planning etc. When I need a simple mind map I use Miro anything more completed requiring timings, resources or integration across other Maps then I stick with my old version of MindManager.
