Overall Satisfaction with Miro

During covid and in the current hybrid way of working we were looking for new collaboration tools, instead of diving into files and folders all the time. After landing Miro we use for all different kinds of collaboration, since it has a broad scala of abilities. The strong point is that it is very flexible and therefore you can turn it into anything you want. See it as a blank sheet of paper with a lot of available formats to copy right in there. Very intuitive, so everybody in the team is able to use it. In some cases we just use it for creating some graphical overview (e.g. process mapping), but in other case Miro is our entire project management system. Involving Kanban board to review in team meeting, but also our holiday planning is in there. When we started using it 2 yrs ago it was not perfect yet, but regular updates give enough possibilities to expand the ways of working with Miro.

Pros

  • Simple to use
  • Flexible
  • Collaborate

Cons

  • Navigation within the sheet
  • Individual licenses in our company take a while to get everybody up and running
  • No need of more complex project management tools
  • Multiple in one solution (planning, creating process maps and other graphs)
Web-based works perfectly fine. Downside is all individual licenses, so not all people are able to use it directly in a new project team.
This is our preferred collaboration tool in our hybrid way of working. In a lot of cases we use Miro during Zoom meetings, so it will be in one place and don't use all zoom capabilities there are stored in different places.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Was not involved in this process.
Very well suited to collaborate with a team with different backgrounds. If you are a couple of engineers you probably use github to store and work on code, but as soon as 1 business person is involved that does not understand code Miro can come in to play and be your collaboration platform.
In a lot of cases you still need documents (xlsx, ppt) so a connect with box/drive would be convenient to directly link to documents.
