Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro is used by CX and IT professionals within our organisation. We use it end-to-end: jotting down thoughts for a new project, mapping journeys and ecosystems, designing and running workshops, creating and tracking planning and work pipelines. Miro is pivotal in our work as it enables us to work remotely and get colleagues and stakeholders involved.

Pros

  • Providing tools to run a workshop
  • Following the cursor of someone who is presenting
  • Diagramming
  • Providing a space to collect and structure information
  • Import and display other file types (PDF in particular)

Cons

  • Colour selection - I don't want to have to add a new colour to the palette if I deviate from the standard colours
  • Different text formatting within text frames. Bold and italics work fine, different fonts and font sizes not so much
  • Drawing straight lines (!!!) I always need to either use a connector line (which always wants to connect to something) or a very thin rectangle. Such a mission to just draw lines
  • Auto-layout
  • Enablement of remote working: saves on flying people in
  • Central repository of work: time saving on managing a repository of work
  • Overview and visibility of work: reduction of time spent on sharing work with shareholders
  • Reduced project completion time
Miro's online whiteboard has greatly enabled our teams to work from multiple locations and in hybrid formats, where some people can be on location while others are dialling in remotely. This allowed our organisation to save on costs to fly people in, and these people would not have to take multi-hour flights to get to a central location, saving both time and money (and our people's wellbeing)

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is superior to Figma, and especially Bluescape. The feature sets may be pretty similar, but especially compared to Bluescape, Miro well and truly outperforms in terms of usability and user experience.
  • Starting a new project and gathering some thoughts and ideas and then structuring those.
  • Research synthesis - dumping all sorts of nuggets and insights and then being able to reshuffle them and group into clusters of insights
  • Journey and ecosystem mapping - I've seen some very detailed and structured journey maps made in Miro, and they're easy to update when needed
  • Process flows - system mapping using the existing shapes and connectors is very easy
  • Running virtual workshops - Miro provides tools and templates to run a virtual workshop easily (i.e. timers)
