Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro for product roadmaps, for product inception canvases, workflows, user journeys, epic and story estimations, integration of Miro cards with Jira work items. We use it as a digital whiteboard and it keeps us organized and on track to reach our goals. We also use it to collaborate and discuss new ideas and mindmaps.

Pros

  • Roadmapping from high level requirements to granular stories and bugs in the project.
  • Retrospectives with topics and note cards that can be added to the boards by team members.
  • User workflows and journeys that display the process and steps users go through when using the product.

Cons

  • We have to remember to use our right-click on the mouse in order to move around the board, otherwise you move items and mess everything up. This is a constant problem. I actually can't navigate Miro without a mouse - I've tried using just the mousepad on my laptop and wasn't able to do it.
  • The permissions are annoying - everyone has to have a license to even view the Miro board. I don't think this should be the case. Anyone should be able to view my board, but only I can edit it and create new boards.
  • You can't share boards between accounts in Miro. If my Marketing team wants to share a board with Product Management, they can't do it. Sharing should be much easier. We had to duplicate the board in the other accounts' space for them to even view it.
  • It's improved productivity and overall vision of our projects

  • It's provided one format and tool to accomplish everything we need for a successful Agile roadmapping session.
It's made it quite easy to collaborate and communicate complex initiatives to all of our remote workers via a virtual format that is easily presentable in meetings. We can share the board to everyone and everyone can provide feedback and ask questions. That feedback is then incorporated into the boards so that we can continue to improve.

Miro is a great digital whiteboard - where we used to use colorful index cards to plot a complex and large roadmap for a project. We can now use Miro for the exact same exercise and it does a great job and is much more efficient.

We also use it for user journey maps and user flows for our various personas that will use our products. It keeps us organized.
