Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Technical drawings for process flows. So, how our tech stack works and connects with each other.

Diagrams to explain our coding and workflow processess for compliance and legal.

Drawings for documentation.

Team retro's (bi-weekly)

Pros

  • Zooming scale. I like how you can get really big or really small intuitively.
  • Make some usable box diagrams from no template pretty quickly.
  • Good initial color palettes and starting object sizes for intuitive drawing.

Cons

  • How lines and arrows connect objects needs to be revamped. Way to hard to make direct shapes or ones that would more organically go around other objects.
  • More colors available for sticky notes.
  • More obvious how to share and export.
  • Better change tracking in collaborations.
  • Reduced project time because we have an agreed upon platform for composing documentation for legal and compliance.
  • Improved productivity through the ability to share Miro projects to onboard folks to new projects.
Getting the web browser and Desktop application to sync can be difficult and frustrating. This may be an issue with Okta/SSO protocols at our company, but since I prefer using the desktop app and the default for Miro is to open web browser tabs, this remains a point of frustration.
Integrated with Atlassian JIRA. It's not totally clear to me it's always working as intended as we have had issues with the links and embeddings.
100% of our team collaboration work is done online. There's no latency issues with Miro, which has been nice.

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Best:
Quick mock ups for on-the-fly collaborative work.
General use across many different company types and areas.
Good for high-level concept explanations for presentations and PDFs for general audiences.

Worst:
More technical drawing that needs quantified scaling easily accessible, weird characters for math, easier code block impelemtnation, connecting objects with arrows.
