Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Miro essentially replaces white boards and sticky notes for us. We use it for Secondary Research highlights, linking articles with sticky notes with a short summary. We use it for ideation, brain dumping potential ideas/solutions on sticky notes. We also use it for connection mapping, journey mapping, and Interview synthesis. We also use it to make quick mockups of worksheets and presentations.

Pros

  • Collaboration with sticky notes/panels
  • Shape making/fast and loose graphic design
  • Premade templates with easy access
  • Easy to understand UI

Cons

  • Load times when multiple jpegs and pngs are on the board could be improved
  • Color wheel selection for sticky notes rather than just current 16 colors
  • Option to erase segments of drawings vs current erasure of each line
  • Improved productivity
  • Reduced project time overall
  • Longer translation of physical notes to digital
It's been great! We use a mixture of both digital and physical post its for brainstorming. Being able to see people's real time ideas as quickly as they come all in the same space with unlimited space for expansion. It's nice to be able to return to the board with there already being a ton of people having worked on it while I was away. It makes information more cohesive, easy to follow up and improve upon, and with the Author Feature for sticky notes, I can see who said what.
I think Miro excels in its freedom of use. There's no sidebar with all the assets used that clutters the screen, it isn't overly technical to where you need training for it to function, and it is significantly more relaxed to where you can alter it to be used for more than just presentation or problem solving. It can go as far as you need or want it to.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is best in collaborative situations where many people need to work together in one space. The unlimited space and resources are great for just throwing ideas to the wall and seeing what sticks. Usually when I'm getting a project started, I write goals on post-its and slap it on the board. I can then take those notes and add subsidiary notes around it that support and push the idea further.
