Overall Satisfaction with Miro

I'm an innovation and product development consultant. I typically use Miro to lead workshops with teams to brainstorm and define products. These teams are typically remote and can have up to 15 different collaborators at any given time. I also use Miro as a visual repository to gather and connect data from different sources. For example, I gather images, documents, links, and screenshots into a board when ideating on solutions.

Pros

  • Visually displaying and organizing information
  • collaboration
  • easy to use shapes and objects

Cons

  • Not enough structure for presentations. Miro could be used as a substitute for PowerPoint - but it usually isn't
  • slow loading time for large amount of pictures
  • difficult to export information from Miro into other tools
  • made it easier to collaborate virtually
  • easier to visualize information
  • easier to gather content
Miro has made it easy to collaborate across time zones and between different companies. I work with a lot of people from other companies and I've never had issues getting them access to the files and information they needed to participate in a virtual working session. It has made it much easier to communicate and accommodate for different ideas and perspectives.
Figma - Miro is easier to learn than Figma. I dont have much experience with Figjam
Adobe XD - i dont even use this anymore. Not a great product. Not easy to collaborate
Lucid - I've used lucid chart before. Its easier to developers to use, but the overall tool has less capability than Miro
Powerpoint - the pros of ppt are that i usually end up presenting with powerpoint, so anything i make in powerpoint can be edited in the slide deck. Cons are that i have limited space and there isn't great diagramming functionality. Works for something very very simple.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro isn't really appropriate for formal presentations. I often taken information from Miro and turn it into PowerPoint slides. Miro is great for working in uncertain environments and gathering data. It just isn't good at transitioning into finalized presentable documents.
I've seen Miro used as a project management tool. Typically this is unsuccessful because there are no notifications, or updates. Its also difficult to format Kanban tiles.
