Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro as a collaboration tool from all parts of the product lifecycle, from Product Discovery (Problem Scoping, Roadmapping/Prioritization, Requirements Gathering), and Product Development (Diagramming, User Story Mapping, Release Breakdowns, Scrum Ceremonies, and Implementation Plans). The platform helps us put all ideas and thoughts related to a specific domain into one platform.

Pros

  • Diagramming
  • Collaborative Workshops
  • Lo-fi Wireframes
  • Kanban

Cons

  • Certain details like lines not aligning and snapping to place properly
  • Workspaces loading slower at scale
  • Attachments and links not being contained on the Miro board anymore
  • Reduced effort to collaborate on projects
My main gripe about Miro is its smoothness and speed when it comes to larger sized files. New workspaces are blazing fast but when you have an in-depth project laid out in Miro, it becomes sluggish and more difficult to navigate. Miro could also use more variety in the color of tags and posts to make it more flexible for companies to use.
Miro is plug and play for us. We only needed to provide specific users access and it is pretty straightforward from there on.
Our product development team seldom reports to work onsite and Miro is a wonderful substitute for visualization. It helps communicate more complex concepts not fully captured by our word or presentation tools and it allows us to do this extremely quickly - just lay down shapes and lined and discuss quickly.
Miro is more intuitive to use over lucidchart and Figjam and it's more feature packed. It has way more shapes and integrations (like wireframing and symbols). From my experience, it is also more straightforward to grant access/sharing Miro files for anyone (including non users) to use, which makes it handy for external participation.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

Miro is perfect for companies that need to collaborate quickly and visually on a problem and I'd applicable for workshops or visualization work throughout the product lifecycle. It's more of a workshop and visualization tool and less for more in-depth UI/wireframing work (although that is partially supported). It's a good tool to use if you are able to segregate your files and workspaces properly to avoid the slowdown of large sized files.
