One of the top cross-team collaboration tools
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
Miro helps us effectively collaborate in a remote working environment. We are able to host workshops with participants from around the world and across timezones as well as work through backlog ideas and prioritise roadmaps and sprints for product development. Further, we are able to efficiently plan content all the way from social media to landing pages and in product copy updates.
Pros
- Cross-team collaboration in a remote working environment
- Create a focused environment to prioritise ideas and vote on next steps
- Help our team plan timelines, roadmaps and content
- Assists our team with note taking during usability testing and user interviews
Cons
- Grouping similar themed ideas / stickies - there is an existing plugin but it's not always effective
- Helping to synthesise data in a smart way. For example, if I have multiple stickies from a user interview, I want a quick and effective way to summarize they key points from that interview in a separate space (like a Google doc) where I can share it with my team members
- Miro is sometimes a bit glitchy when a board gets too big, I often need to restart the application to continue working on something
- Better grouping of projects. We are proud to be Miro 'super-users' but end up with tons and tons of boards and not having a very effective way of organizing them
- We were able to work across 6 different timezones during ideation sessions - something we really weren't able to do before
- Decreased time to set up and run a workshop by over 80%
- Decreased time to synthesise and summarise a workshop by 100%
We have been able to effectively collaborate with multi-national organisations across multiple languages and time zones. Our time to set up, run and summarise workshops has significantly decreased and our communication within our team in a remote working environment has significantly improved by having a digital whiteboard interface to express and explore new ideas.
We originally signed up for Miro before we started to use FigJam (and before FigJam existed), all of our client work and processes / templates live in Miro which is why we had to remain on Miro. FigJam, however, feels a lot faster, there's are a few more 'delightful' moments in the product, like their stickers, egg timers, and music player. It also brings designs and prototypes right into the same space as the digital whiteboard experience which allows us to better capture feedback and explore ideas and even more enhance collaboration in one single space. I wanted to move our team from Miro to FigJam due to costs and the slightly better experience, however as previously mentioned all of our legacy work is in Miro and it would be too much effort and investment to move yet.
