Miro Mind Mirror
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I use Miro to facilitate Design Research & Development. My research is captured via screen shots and Clickable web links like manufacturer websites, product pages, even Youtube links. I even screen shot emails to track the developing story of product development. I leave Miro open on my desktop and access from my app when away from the office setting. The problem Miro addresses for me is connecting to information in the moment anywhere, anytime. It allows me to present in meetings or on the go with the app. I can show my work & show my process. Living in a computer's folder structure is too slow when trying to explain the beginning, middle, and end of a story. With Miro I can just zoom in and out & Pan around. Miro becomes your visualized brain.
Pros
- Gets images from my Iphone onto my computer
- AI Background removal
- Display images for links
- zooms and pans large amounts of information to focus attention in presentations
Cons
- Finding your content when fully zoomed out
- setting an appropriate starting zoomed point so you don't have huge images taking memory
- load big boards on Iphone
- I can answer questions in half the time if my boards are populated with the right content versus searching through folders on a desktop
- I can remove image backgrounds without Photoshop.
- Transferring photos from phone to computer takes half the time
Presentations can be created as a team, then framed for a meeting slideshow.
The team is able to see one another's contributions and evolve together in the same space. Before Miro we were in silo's now, we share organically. One member may be able to create a great presentation but then has to email it individually, now they can just drop it on the board and everyone sees it.

I have not encountered anything like Miro. I wouldn't want to use anything but Miro. I used Mind Map once and it was static, and formulaic. Mind map was too restrictive for me to want to use. It did not allow me to be creative like Miro. I chose Miro because it was intuitive, it augmented my physical whiteboard, and I realized I didn't have to photograph my physical white board to capture and present content.
