Overall Satisfaction with Miro
i design and review designs for software architectures. i use it for sketching, final designs, presentation, and collaborative work. i also use it for project planning and project retrospectives. in some cases i use it in place of powerpoint for authoring and giving presentations on other subjects. i use both the standard diagramming tools, as well as as a rendering engine for PUML and Mermaid markup.
Pros
- infinite canvas size
- handling large diagrams
- extensibility through apps
Cons
- not much advanced diagramming options
- limitations on code rendering
- raster/vector interoperability
- text handling
- honestly, nothing i can point to. i could use other tools to achieve the same things just as easily.
meh. it’s ok, but since the diagramming tools themselves are lackluster, it’s not especially empowering that we can all do it together. it’s not terrible, but it doesn’t solve the sorts of problems i really care about much better than anything else, either. perhaps this is a fundamental limitation of mouse-based drawing interfaces
i didn’t select Miro, i just get to use it. it seems pretty comparable to the others. i can’t say that i have a great idea of the comparison of features. i also have very little interest in most of these features, which largely seem like gimmicks which take more effort to understand and use than the value they deliver.
