Ridiculously Useful Collaboration Software
Overall Satisfaction with Miro
As an independent consultant, Miro is an essential part of my consultancy work. Since Covid, the ability to deliver strategy workshops remotely has been an ongoing need. But Miro has been such an excellent addition to my arsenal, including the timers, ability to pre-record voiceovers, and with its new AI functionality, it is my preference even over face-to-face workshops. The interface is easy to teach to people who have never worked in a virtualized whiteboard space, and it's just... fun to use when you see everyone sharing ideas and swarming around a board to collaborate on one topic or another.
It also doesn't hurt that Miro offers a price point that makes it a ludicrously easy decision to upgrade to a professional account. I also like and take advantage of the many templates and add-ons available with Miro. Every project I launch gets a new Miro board. This could get disorganized very quickly except that it's easy to manage the boards and move them from one place to another as necessary.
I'm very pleased with Miro. I don't think I'd be quite as effective at what I do without it.

Pros
- Brainstorming Sessions with Clients
- Idea Organization to Make Complicated Data More Easily Manageable
- Complex Visual Designs and Workflows
- Extracting Large PDFs onto a Whiteboard for Group Commentary
Cons
- Make it clearer that adding team members costs extra money before clicking
- Improved productivity
- Reduced time to value
- Encouraged creativity
- Sparked additional insights
It has been essential to collaboration with remote teams globally distributed. Without Miro as a solution, I would have to ask clients to fly me to their onsite locations and perhaps ask other collaborators from their company to travel as well. Overall, it is a far more elegant solution and highly cost effective.
Miro was built for purpose and that purpose is collaboration. It is a best of breed software. While I am aware of other platforms that do similar things, it is clearly the most powerful version of this software category with regular improvements and development.
