Overall Satisfaction with Miro

Our organization uses Miro for project planning for our Industrial Design team. I, however, use Miro for managing my quarterly projects as an overview. It's been really helpful to be able to move items around easily, write comments, and keep the board as a location to continuously update where projects are at and add in new ones as they arise. I've loved the opportunity to look at everything holistically.

Pros

  • Commenting is really easy, and I like that you can move the location of the comment - something Google Docs doesn't do.
  • Color options helps me segment my work out and give a clear visual for a high level glance.
  • There are lots of templates for customization based on what you would like to use Miro for.

Cons

  • I think there are too many options where a beginner like myself can get lost.
  • I would love it if I could scroll down the page. I'm having to get used to the page being an endless open canvas.
  • It would be nice if the mouse clicker would come back immediately after posting a comment as opposed to changing it back manually.
  • I've been able to stay organized and work on projects in a timely manner.
  • I've updated my manager throughout project completion as she can click into my board at any time and review where I am at with the work.
  • I've been able to keep track of wins for reporting reasons.
I know that our industrial design team uses Miro to collaborate on projects and they really love it. I don't have insight into how that is working myself as I am using Miro as a stand alone in my department. However, it has helped me collaborate with my manager by ensuring we both have up to date information and project projected timelines are in order.
I like Miro because it has been best for me as a visual learner. To be able to see projects laid out in a timeline related manner has helped me prioritize my work more so than other platforms that appear to keep things listed in a steady line of work.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I think Miro could be great for anyone, so long as they know how they want to use it. The tool is very broad and can be applicable to a lot of different scenarios. At the end of the day it is there to help you get and stay organized. I do wish I was not getting team updates to my email weekly as a lot of those are actually specific to different teams. I do also wish there was a beginners guide and templates based on departments and what they might want to use Miro for.
