Overall Satisfaction with Miro
I'm a designer, in a previous life I used to print out all my work and pin images to a physical foam core board, this not only allows me to waste less paper and have fewer physical materials, but I'm able to keep the boards for as long as I want. I used to need to unpin and take boards apart when I no longer had physical space. It also allows me to easily move items around on my boards and allows for my clients to add comments and notes.
Pros
- Collaboration, I love the ability to share my boards and to adjust sharing settings depending on who I'm collaborating with
- UX, the interface is really easy to use and feels like a cousin of adobe - which is helpful for me as a designer
- The ability to upload files, I often upload multi page PDFs and can separate all the pages easily in Miro for better visual understanding
- Notifications - i like that Miro sends me emails when there have been updates in my boards - I can see when my clients have left me notes and respond quickly
Cons
- The only thing I can think of is that it would be nice if each board had more capacity, sometimes my boards get full because I upload larger design files but that's barely a complaint
- When I started my business, I used Miro from the very beginning so I have no other processes to compare it to.
- Organizationally is keeps me incredibly focused, sorry I don't have more tangible numbers for you but I use it every single day and will until the end of time.
I'm an independent designer, it allows me to share my work easily with my clients and give them access to the entire development process from start to finish. It is my number 1 tool and I could not function in my job without it.
The only other thing I've used that's sort of similar is Google Slides and that's really more of a PowerPoint alternative than a whiteboard space. It's collaborative but otherwise, you're limited to different pages which I find challenging. I went straight from using physical foam core boards and pins to Miro, there was essentially no in-between. The only reason I've used Google Slides was because that's what a client was more comfortable with. I quickly switched back to Miro after that projects was over.
