Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro regularly for workshops, retros, and brainstorming. It is an especially helpful tool for collaboration on a whiteboard when we are a distributed team that is spread across three different continents. I can't imagine a better tool for facilitating workshops that allows everyone to contribute and share ideas in a simple, easy-to-use way.

Pros

  • Multiple users typing simultaneously.
  • voting on different topics by participants.
  • Jira integration to represent stories that have been created.

Cons

  • I wish the AI features were more developed to do more like read through various notes and group and summarize.
  • Jira integration can be clunky; I wish clicking on a ticket would take me to that story in Jira.
  • As a moderator, sometimes I wish I could deselect things for people who have perhaps selected a background shape that has "greyed" out the text of what I'm trying to read.
  • Shortens times to share multiple ideas.
  • Shortens time to narrow down on ideas.
  • Increases engagement of participants during workshops.
I did not participate in the implementation.
We integrate with Jira quite regularly. It's ok, although it isn't the easiest thing, and I seem to be the only one on the team who regularly uses it and gets asked to link the stories by others quite frequently. I find it works okay, but since so few use it, maybe it's not as intuitive.
Yes, this is the main use case for which we use it. We are a team that is spread across three continents and working hybrid between office and remote. Miro is an especially useful tool for collaboration. It really speeds up the time and lowers the bar for everyone in a meeting to share ideas and build on them.

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

I would regularly recommend specific templates for different types of workshops in Miro or in our community of practice. We regularly share previous workshops we have run with our teams and share the boards to be duplicated and used in other teams. I find Miro can be well suited for brainstorming the work to be done but less appropriate when trying to visualize and track it through completion. That would be where we use Jira, so sometimes it's a bit of workflow getting ideas transferred over into Jiras.
