Overall Satisfaction with Miro

We use Miro mainly to design the workflows we carry out internally and also with our clients. We work with APIs and automation for marketing, sales, processes, after-sales, among others, and the visual representation is essential so that everyone is aligned with the project. Each flow is designed within Miro, reviewed, and then we use this same flow to present all the project stages to the client, with comments at each stage. This flow also helps us a lot so that the programmers involved understand the path of information between tools.

Pros

  • Easily and conveniently connect visual elements using lines, with or without arrows.
  • Ability to save as a template to use again in the future.
  • Integration with Jira so that we can have an overview of the progress of all the projects we have at the agency.

Cons

  • Sometimes when you want to select just the elements it is very easy to select and move the board as well.
  • Customizing the font and colors of elements could be more practical. Changing font sizes using the plus/minus arrows could be more precise.
  • Possibility to break text lines within elements (if there is a way to do it, I haven't figured it out yet).
  • I optimized time, because with a better design/flow of how the work should be carried out, there is less need for rework.
  • I increased productivity, because even during meetings we can easily use Miro and start designing flow ideas, replicating and predicting different scenarios without needing extra time.
  • It has helped me demonstrate greater professionalism and technical knowledge. When we present a well-designed, aligned flow, with logical colors and captions, clients value the project much more because they can visually and easily understand the complexity of what we do.
It took us a considerable amount of time to understand how the Jira integration could be useful to us. So, the integration itself wasn't complex, but it took time to understand/discover the possibilities and we only recently started using it. There are probably other use cases that are also very useful but we haven't even imagined them yet.
In my current project, I have been using Miro alone, but I have participated in other projects and the possibility of more people working collaboratively and simultaneously on the same project makes things much easier, especially during meetings, without the need to share the screen and one person passing instructions to another. Both people just need to access it and interact in real time. This greatly optimizes work time.
I prefer Miro because I have more possibilities to position the elements, lines and texts than in MindMeister. In MindMeister the editing possibilities seem more limited to me and it takes me more time to configure/customize the flows the way I need. The possibility of creating different connecting lines between the elements also influences a lot for the demands we have, in the other platform I can't create the way I need (straight line, curved...)

Do you think Miro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Miro's feature set?

Yes

Did Miro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Miro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Miro again?

Yes

For building flows that demonstrate how information should interact between tools, demonstrating possible communication scenarios, and exemplifying funnels, Miro is an excellent tool. However, for demonstrating the structure of a website or system, for example, where it is necessary to demonstrate what the sections of each page will look like, I do not consider Miro to be the best tool and it has also limited us in visually demonstrating the structure and also the navigation flow on the same board.
