Overall Satisfaction with Miro
We use miro to 1. Brainstorm new product features 2. Create customer journeys 3. Create product roadmaps 4. Map out existing processes and determine how to improve them.
Pros
- Collaboration is one thing Miro does well because it allows multiple people - business, PM, tech, and QA to come together visually to understand and contribute to customer journeys. As a result, it's not something that's built in silos.
- Our team is remote, so using Miro as a tool where we work together makes a big difference.
- We occasionally try to use some design thinking practices, which is great because it's an open canvas that allows each one to express themselves the way they like (text, arrows, charts, drawings of some sort).
Cons
- I've found it hard to downsize my team at times. It is a multi-stage price, and then you have to update billing separately.
- I've found it hard to switch some people to guests who are not active users. We are a startup, so cost saving does help even if it's 1-2 users.
- I use a Mac, and at some point, it became difficult to use an external mouse to pan (all sides) and Zoom. One of these two works fine, but the other frustrates me. I've tried a standard mouse and an apple mouse.
- Allowed for easier remote work.
- Allowed for better inputs on customer journeys.
- Enabled ease of understanding problems, which would lead to better output and productivity.
This has been our biggest use case of MIRO. We have loved using MIRO for exactly this. Our team is quite distributed. We would not have been able to operate as well without MIRO.
I can't remember the name of the product I used, but it was a similar whiteboard solution. We went with Miro, given that the pricing was better.
